Privacy Policy

This assessment is an educational smile-screening tool provided by a dental or orthodontic practice using the OrthoScore platform. This policy explains what information the assessment collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It is not a medical diagnosis, and using the assessment does not create a doctor–patient relationship.
Information we collect
- Your responses — the answers you provide to the assessment questions.
- Contact details — the name, email, and phone number you enter so the practice can follow up.
- An optional smile photo — only if you choose to add one. Adding a photo is entirely optional and you can complete the assessment without it.
How your photo is handled
If you choose to add a smile photo, it is processed only to generate your educational result and is then discarded — it is not stored on our systems. Location and camera information (such as EXIF/GPS metadata) is removed before the image is processed. To produce the educational observation, the photo is sent for automated analysis by a third-party AI service and is not retained by that service for that purpose. We never post your photo publicly or sell it.
How we use your information
Your responses and contact details are used to generate your personalized educational result and to share your interest with the sponsoring practice so they can contact you about a consultation. We use aggregate, de-identified analytics (for example, how many people completed the assessment) to improve the tool. We do not use your information for unrelated advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
Who receives your information
Your responses and contact details are shared with the dental or orthodontic practice whose assessment you completed, so they can follow up with you. We use trusted service providers (for hosting, communications, and the automated photo analysis described above) that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations. We may disclose information if required by law.
Assessments for minors
If the assessment is being completed for a child or teenager, it should be completed by a parent or legal guardian, who provides consent on the minor's behalf. Do not submit a photo of a minor unless you are their parent or guardian.
Security & retention
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access restricted to authorized systems. Smile photos are not retained. Your responses and contact details are kept only as long as needed to share them with the practice and for reasonable record-keeping, after which they may be deleted or de-identified.
Your choices
You can decline the optional photo, and you can ask the practice you engaged with to access, correct, or delete the information you submitted. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information; contact the practice to exercise them.
Contact
